TCAA Plein Air Artists

This week our plein air artists made their way to Bolton, CT. Fish Family Farms, located on Dimock Lane is an historic farm that nearly became extinct, until local real estate magnate Donald Fish purchased the farm.  Fish Family Farm and Creamery offers wonderful views from their hillside location and their dairy store products are made at the farm from Jersey cows, known for their rich milk. We are truly in the dog days of summer. August has been primarily a tropical soup with temperatures reaching well into the 90's, and Tuesday morning was no exception. June was the first to arrive around 9 a.m. followed by Linda. The rest of the artists rolled in mostly before 9:30. Our motley crew was made up of June and Linda, Susan, Paul, Adrianna, Penny, Bonnie and Sally. We walked around the farm, looking for a likely subject to attack, making sure our setting up would be in a nice shady spot. We all seemed drawn to similar subjects. Susan Bosworth enjoying the view at Shenipsit Lake Well, our blog has become international. Our greatest international audience currently is in Ireland (here's a wave to Ireland. Hello!) but we have had views from as far away as the Philippines. Others include Germany and Peru, just to name a few. There is great interest in Plein air painting from all over the world, so I hope we can keep it up, and add to our group as time goes on. This writer missed out on all the fun at Shenipsit Lake in Tolland, CT. A huge group made their way to the boat launch to test out their skills of one of the most pristine lakes in our state. Shenipsit Lake is a reservoir that brings water to several towns, and the views around the lake are all amazing.
